A huge congratulations goes out to junior, Lincoln Devine and soph, Maxwell Thew for being selected to represent VHS at the 2020 National Band Association Conference Jan. 17-18 at UW Oshkosh. Lincoln and Max were selected from over 300 applicants to be a part of the Honors Band.

Please note that Vernon County has advised limiting unecessary travel until road conditions improve today. They do expect the conditions to improve by this afternoon, so we are planning to have a normal afternoon release with buses running on their regular schedule.

It was a very exciting Farm to School learning day for students (Elementary/Montessori through grade 6) who went to the Greenhouse with Mrs. Diehl. There students observed vegetable plants that our high school science students have grown in the greenhouse.

Due to scheduling changes caused by the bad weather last week, we have scheduled our School Board Meeting for tonight at 5:00 PM.
Our 6th Grade Band Concert begins at 6:00 PM in the High School Gym followed by the High School Band Concert at 7:30pm. Please join us.

Great session this afternoon! Come out at 6:00 pm to the VHS cafeteria for the "Wake Up Call" program for adults interested in learning how to protect their teens.


Special event tonight: Do you ever worry if you could spot the hidden signs of vaping or drug use by teens? This program is for any parent or adult community member who wants to keep their teens safe from harm. This evening from 6:30–8:00 PM at the Viroqua High School cafeteria.


Our 6th Grade Concert has been rescheduled for Monday, December 16th at 6:00 pm. Student report time is 5:30 pm. The VHS Concert will take place after the 6th Grade, at 7:30 pm. Both concerts will take place in the High School Gymnasium. See you there! Go Blackhawks!

Viroqua Area Schools have cancelled all after school activities for today, Monday, Dec. 9th.

Yesterday, Sparta HS had a school threat late in the day. They were closed for school there today while the police investigated. Police have since resolved the situation found no cause for further concern, and activities in Sparta did resume with after school activities. We are hosting Sparta basketball and hockey tonight. We want the public to know that there was never a threat to our students. Please come out and cheer the kids on. Go Blackhawks!
